WHAT MAKES THERMO-TREATED ELM FLOORING SO SPECIAL?
Premium Elm Thermally Modified Flooring shows a unique grain structure: it is a micro ripple combined with a macro picture of grain lines. Elm floors are durable for 25 years due to the thermo-treatment process. Thermo-treatment makes it essentially stable even in high-humidity areas, so this flooring can be installed in unusual wood flooring areas: kitchens, bathrooms, and basements. Even it can be used on closed terraces and balconies. The equilibrium moisture content (EMC) is reduced to 4%. The thermo-treatment changes the color of the wood to a brown tint that is consistent beyond the surface, so this flooring is great for high-traffic areas like hotels, stores, offices, galleries, etc.
This Elm flooring is made for "old school installation": there are no bevels on the boards, and it is installed with no gaps between boards as a consistent solid surface.
ADVANTAGES OF THERMO-TREATMENT FOR ELM FLOORING
Essential Durability
Thermo treatment is a chemical-free process resulting in unmatched durability and natural resistance to termites and pests.
Lowest Maintenance
The improved dimensional stability allows for extended maintenance intervals compared to other wood products.
Repels Moisture
Thermally-treated wood naturally repels moisture to prevent the wood's warping, shrinking, and swelling.
Class B Fire Rating
Reduced combustibility due to thermo-treatment.
Exotic wood look
The brown color is consistent beyond the surface.

INSTALLATION TIPS
-
Cut it, sand it, nail it, drill it, paint or stain it as you would practically any standard-grade lumber, using the same standard tools.
-
Consider that thermo-treated wood is drier (4% EMC), lighter in weight, and slightly more brittle than non-treated wood.
-
This floor can be installed directly on concrete with glue. Also, standard plywood installation can be used as for any regular wood flooring.
-
The boards have square edges and are designed to finish them after installation. So, being installed, the floor should be sanded with a special sanding machine and then covered with oil, lacquer, or any wood finish for look and protection.
-
Saw speed will affect the cut quality; generally, the higher the saw power, the better the cut quality.
-
Fasteners should be applied a minimum of 5/8" from the board edge and the board ends.
