WHAT MAKES THERMO-TREATED MUSHROOM WOOD SO SPECIAL?

Why "Mushroom Wood"? This kind of grain structure with such unique depth can be reached in two ways:

- A couple of dozens (or even hundreds) of years of continuous traffic, which creates a specific look of very old wood

- Plant mushrooms on the wood, and while they grow, their roots eat the soft parts of the wood to make it easily removable, followed by deep wire brushing.

Both ways are time-consuming and complicated. We don't use either of them to make our Mushroom Wood. Our unique combination of thermal treatment and our special technique of wire brushing makes the wood look 300 years old. It's not just traditional wire brushing (see the difference in the picture). As a result, you get what you see.

INSTALLATION TIPS

  • Cut it, sand it, nail it, drill it, paint, or stain it as you would practically any standard-grade lumber, using the same standard tools.

  • Consider that thermo-treated wood is drier (4% EMC), lighter in weight, and slightly more brittle than non-treated wood.

  • Install wood Panels with finishing nails # 16 or 18 of 1.5"-2" length through the face.

  • Saw speed will affect the cut quality; generally, the higher the saw power, the better the cut quality.
